LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police are investigating after a 17-year-old showed up at a downtown hospital with a gunshot wound Monday night.
Police were called to Jewish Hospital around 8:40 p.m. on a report that a shooting victim had arrived at the hospital, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said.
EMS was called and the victim was transported to University of Louisville Hospital. Ellis said he was "alert and conscious" while being transported to be treated for injuries not thought to be life-threatening.
Investigators believe the initial shooting took place in the 1200 block of South 16th Street, that's near West Oak Street and the California neighborhood.
LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is handling the investigation, but had no suspects and had made no arrests.Â
