LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Pictures make them look like something straight out of a national magazine, but the products are made in Louisville.
Â
"We were working in Ben's basement for a while, until his wife kicked us out of the house," said Brent Jordan, a co-owner of Louisville Farm Tables.
That led Jordan and his business partner Ben Willis to a space on the outskirts of Jefferson County. What started as a hobby almost two years ago has now grown into a full-fledged business. "The business blossomed from from one table to ten tables to thirty tables and people just kept ordering it. I think people respond to the clean lines, the simplicity, the form factor of it," Willis said.
It takes about 20 hours to make each table. Prices range from about $700 to $1,000.

The duo prides themselves on color and stain options and their use of local materials, such as reclaimed barn wood.
It's these qualities that Jordan thinks appeal to customers. "Louisville is a great city and people want to be here and want to support the local economy," he said.
Willis and Jordan say they will soon add coffee and end tables to the mix. "We just wanted to be able give the option to people who didn't need such a big item, but still wanted a quality piece of furniture for their home," Jordan said.
It's all a part of growing the business that has become a full-time gig for both men. They say they hope to stay in business for many years to come.
"Not trying to get too ahead of ourselves and just take everything one day at a time," Jordan said.
One day at a time, one table at a time.
