AARP Purpose Prize Gary Sinise

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Calling all Forrest Gump lovers.

Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band is coming to Fort Knox on July 27. The free show is happening at 5 p.m. at Brooks Field.

The cover band was founded by actor Gary Sinise in 2003 and is known for their energetic performances and support for military, veterans, first responders and their families. 

The band's name is a nod to Sinise's iconic character Lt. Dan Taylor in the Academy Award-winning film "Forrest Gump."

Concertgoers are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets.

Visitors without a military ID will need to go to the Visitor Center outside Chaffee Gate.
