LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man died after a two-vehicle crash in Fairdale on Saturday night, according to Louisville Metro Police.

LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said police responded to a crash at the intersection of New Cut Road and Brown Austin Road, near Outer Loop, around 8:40 p.m.

Police said a man who wasn't wearing a seat belt died in the crash. The man, who hasn't been identified, was the only person in the vehicle.

Ellis said the driver of the second vehicle was alert and conscious. After being checked out by EMS, he refused medical attention on scene.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash. No other vehicles were involved in the wreck.

LMPD's Traffic Unit is leading the investigation.
