LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle in downtown Louisville Friday evening.
Officers were called the the intersection of Ninth and Broadway around 7:49 p.m. on a report that a pedestrian had been hit, Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said in a statement. That's downtown, near the city's Russell neighborhood.
The pedestrian, an adult man, was taken to University of Louisville Hospital in critical condition, Mitchell said.
Due to the severity of the man's injuries, LMPD's Traffic Unit is investigating what led up to the incident.
It's unclear at this time whether or not the driver remained at the scene.
