LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Several southern Indiana schools will be honoring Bryce Gerlach, the 18-year-old who was killed at Harvest Homecoming last weekend, during their football games on Friday.

Gerlach was a senior football player at Corydon Central. The team posted a message on Facebook Wednesday letting the community know a meeting took place with the senior football players. They decided to play in Friday's Senior Night game against Silver Creek as scheduled.

The game will be a "blue-out" in memory of Gerlach, and the team asks everyone to wear blue, his favorite color. The team also asks all Corydon Central students to attend the game.

Other southern Indiana schools will also honor Gerlach during their football games. A list of those games are below:

  • Clarksville at Crawford County: Kickoff at 7 p.m., fans from both teams asked to wear blue, and bracelets will be sold to support the Gerlach family,
  • Jeffersonville at Jennings County: Kickoff at 7 p.m.; fans asked to wear orange for gun violence awareness.
  • New Albany at Floyd Central: Kickoff at 7 p.m.; fans asked to wear orange for gun violence awareness
