LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- A new law in Indiana will allow more children to receive school vouchers.

Governor Mike Pence signed the bill into law Thursday at Calvary Christian School on the south side of Indianapolis.  It makes children eligible for vouchers without first having to spend a year in public schools.

Pence says Indiana students "deserve every opportunity to be successful."  But opponents say the bill will drain more money from public schools.

More than 9,000 Indiana students are currently participating in the voucher program.
