LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Court documents say the man charged with murdering his father and step-father was covered in feces when he grabbed the gun and fired the fatal shots.

The Floyd County Sheriff's Office said officers were called out around 5:45 a.m. to the 6700 block of Georgetown-Greenville Road in Greenville, Indiana. According to the probable cause affidavit, 23-year-old Easton Goode was found drunk, lying on his bedroom floor vomiting, at 4:45 a.m. March 5. His mother, Brandi Butler, told police she found him there and yelled for her husband, 53-year-odl Bradley Butler. Goode and Bradley Butler then began fighting, she told police, but hugged and made up shortly thereafter.

Some time later, according to the court documents, Goode went downstairs and into a first-floor bathroom, "where he remained for some time." He came out, she told police, he was "naked from the waist down" and "covered in his own feces." Goode then began again fighting with Bradley Butler. Goode's mother and step-father calmed him down and got him into a bedroom and left him there, hoping he'd fall asleep.

Brandi Butler then called her ex-husband, 55-year-old Kelly Goode — Goode's father — to come over and taking her son back to his house to sober up. By the time Kelly Goode got to the house, police said, Easton Goode was standing in the hallway, and no one could tell at the time he was holding a 40-caliber Taurus gun, which Brandi Butler said belonged to Bradley Butler. Before she left him in the bedroom, she said she ensured the gun was in a small safe in the room.

Kelly Goode approached his son, and that's when police said Easton Goode fired a shot at his father. Brandi Butler said Easton Goode then shot her husband, who was sitting on the couch.

According to court documents, Easton Goode admitted to police he shot both men. He was charged with two counts of murder and two counts of criminal recklessness.

And this isn't Goode's first legal trouble.

In 2023, he was charged with felony battery with serious bodily injury. Court records show he punched his autistic friend in the face, fracturing his jaw in five different places.

The victim's injuries required surgery to have his jaw wired shut. Court records said Goode apologized for the assault, pleaded guilty and served one day in jail.
