CLARK COUNTY, Ind. (WDRB) -- The Indiana State Dept. of Health says more mosquitoes containing the West Nile Virus have been found in Clark County.

The Clark County Health Department posted about the finding on its official Facebook page.

Officials say that as of Sept. 10, four positive mosquito samples have been collected in Jeffersonville, and two positive mosquito samples have been collected in Clarksville.

The samples were gathered by the Clark County Health Department during routine mosquito sampling.

The Clark County Health Department will continue to collect and test mosquitoes, as well as spray pesticides until the year's first freezing temperatures.

Local residents are encouraged to use repellents, wear protective clothing and avoid being outside during dusk and dawn when mosquitoes are most active.

Many people who contract the virus can experience fever, headache and body aches.
