LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Indiana State Police have arrested the mother of an 8-month-old boy in connection with the child's death.

Casey Crain, 23, is charged with neglect of a dependent. Her live-in boyfriend, Jamie James Lykins, had already been charged Monday with neglect of a dependent and battery causing death.

Police say Casey Crain found 8-month-old Leelan Crain unresponsive around 7 p.m. Saturday.  She, along with Lykins, took him to St. Vincent's Hospital in Salem. From there, he was transported to Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville.  He was pronounced dead at 1:41 a.m. Sunday.

Preliminary results from an autopsy conducted Sunday indicated that the cause of death was head injuries.

The final determination of the cause of death could take up to six weeks.
