LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Prosecutors say no plea deal has been reached with accused killer James Stover.
Stover is charged with murdering Camden McCroskey during a drug deal in April 2009.
The victim's mother, Kim Vanderhaar, tells WDRB that she received a phone call from prosecutors on Tuesday, indicating that they might accept a deal where Stover would plead guilty to manslaughter.
She is insisting that Stover go to trial for her son's murder.
"I have to continue to fight for Camden's memory," Vanderhaar said. "He has a little girl that's now five that's growing up without her Daddy."
She says she wants a jury to decide Stover's fate and not the Commonwealth Attorney.
Prosecutors say they will not comment further on a possible deal until it is agreed to in open court.
