LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — Tyran Stokes, the top basketball recruit in the country, has announced his commitment to Kansas. He made the decision Tuesday on ESPN's "Inside the NBA." The 6-foot-7 forward from Seattle's Ranier Beach High School is known for his scoring ability, including a 63-point game last season. Stokes had narrowed his choices to Kansas and Kentucky after Oregon dropped out. One of hte big questions was whether he would play for Kansas, one of the flagship adidas schools. He signed an NIL deal with Nike last year. Kansas has been busy rebuilding its roster after losing one-and-done star Darryn Peterson to the NBA and several high-profile transfers.

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby has taken an indefinite leave of absenceto enter a residential treatment program for a gambling addiction. Texas Tech says it is “committed to supporting Brendan through his recovery process and to ensure his long-term health and well-being.” Sorsby was one of the biggest names in this year’s transfer portal. He arrived from Cincinnati, which announced in February it would sue the quarterback for breaching his name, image and likeness contract. He began his college career at Indiana.

UNDATED (AP) — Arizona big man Motiejus Krivas and versatile guard Ivan Kharchenkov are returning for the 2026-27 season, giving the Wildcats two key players from their Final Four run. Arizona announced Krivas’ return on Monday, less than a week after the departures of freshmen Brayden Burries and Koa Peat for the NBA draft. Kharchenkov was not on the NBA’s early-entry list released later Monday, indicating his return. Arizona will lose seniors Jaden Bradley and Tobe Awaka, but Krivas and Kharchenkov give the Wildcats two cornerstones as coach Tommy Lloyd retools the roster.

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — The inaugural Fiesta Bowl Flag Football Classic in Tempe, Arizona, was held this month on the campus of Arizona State. The event is another example that shows how the sport of women's flag football is growing at a rapid pace at the college level. The Fiesta Bowl event hosted eight NCAA Division I teams, including Arizona State, Alabama State, Georgia, UCF, Florida, Grand Canyon, Charlotte and USC. The sport should get another boost from the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, where there will be a men's and women's tournament. The NCAA version of the sport is also growing quickly, with some programs beginning to offer scholarships.

UNDATED (AP) — No team in college baseball had a better week than Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets beat SEC-leading Georgia 14-4 at the Atlanta Braves’ Truist Park on Tuesday and then took three from Wake Forest for a third straight ACC home series sweep. Their 36-7 record is the best in program history after 43 games, and their 19-5 mark in Atlantic Coast Conference games is their best after 24 games. They lead North Carolina by two games. The Yellow Jackets have posted seven sweeps and are on track to set several program offensive records.
