LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A fire broke out at a chemical plant near Louisville's Park Duvalle neighborhood Saturday morning.

Workers at Zeon Chemicals LP notified leadership about a fire in a "single process area" at 7:45 a.m., according to company spokesperson Lori Carson.

The plant is located in the 4100 block of Bells Lane.

On-site safety and suppression systems were activated and they also called 911. The building was evacuated and no one was injured.

Firefighters contained the flames by 8:21 a.m. and the smoke dissipated. No hazardous chemicals were released into the air.

An investigation is underway to determine the cause.

Zeon Chemicals is one of the top producers of polymers in the world and produces specialty elastomers.
