LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Norton Healthcare is holding a seasonal vaccine clinic at Norton Prompt Care at Arena Plaza in the KFC Yum! Center in downtown Louisville Friday afternoon.
It's a chance to get your flu and COVID vaccines. The clinic will be operating from noon until 6 p.m.
Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins will be accepted.
Children 5 to 17 need to be accompanied by an adult or guardian. Bring your ID and insurance card if you have one. This is not a vaccine clinic for children under 5 years old.
Norton physicians say this is yet another season where three viruses will be circulating at one time: COVID, flu and RSV While sickness and hospitalizations are nowhere near pandemic levels, now is the perfect time to get the flu and COVID vaccines before things get worse.
"Cold and flu season now includes COVID-19," said Dr. Kristina Bryant, a system epidemiologist with Norton Healthcare. "It's right around the corner, but there's still time for people to protect themselves and their family members."
Officials are encouraging people to approach the COVID vaccine just as you would the flu vaccine. The most updated COVID vaccine protects against the most recent omicron variant that's now circulating.
To make an appointment for Friday, call 502-861-4499.
Free parking will also be available in the Third Street garage under the arena.
