LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say a man used aluminum foil to try to smuggle stolen DVDs past the anti-theft scanners at Walmart.
It happened Monday, shortly after 8:00 a.m. Police say 49-year-old Arthur L. Lloyd walked into the Walmart on Shelbyville Road, near N. English Station Road, took several DVDs off the shelves and placed them in a black bag.
Police say he had aluminum foil on hand, which he used to disable the anti-theft scanners at the store when he walked out without paying for the merchandise.
Officers say they found Lloyd at a bus stop near the parking lot. He allegedly had over $550 of DVDs on his person.
When they ran his criminal history, they found he had an arrest warrant for a previous theft at the same store, as well as another case pending for shoplifting, according to an arrest report.
Police say he had already been banned from the store.
Lloyd was arrested and charged with theft and criminal trespassing.
