LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville's deputy mayor is stepping down.
Barbara Sexton Smith announced Thursday she's leaving the Mayor's Office in April.
Sexton Smith has been serving as deputy mayor for more than a year with Mayor Craig Greenberg.Â
She's not retiring, instead she has her own idea of what's next.
"Now you know that I call it 'rewirement,' we rewire, so I'm in the process of rewiring. You've seen me do it," she said.
Sexton Smith said that's what she did when she was the CEO for Fund for the Arts and a Metro Council member. She said she plans to spend more time doing what she loves most — life and work with the love of her life.
