McGarvey (KY-03) said the funding will upgrade streets, support economic development, help children in neighborhoods and improve public safety.
"Louisville deserves federal investments, and every day since taking office, I’ve been listening to Louisvillians so we can address our community’s most pressing needs," McGarvey said in a news release. "While it hasn’t been easy as a freshman in the minority, I worked with the Republican majority to bring back $12 million for local projects that will have an incredible impact on our city."
Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg said the investments are key to the city's effort in reducing violence, building safer streets, improving infrastructure and enhancing parks.
"I am grateful to Congressman McGarvey for securing more than $10 million in funding for projects my administration requested that will help us create a safer, stronger and healthier Louisville for generations to come," Greenberg said in a news release. "I’m excited to see these initiatives come to life and look forward to continuing this great local-federal partnership with Congressman McGarvey for years to come."
