LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Former Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Richie Farmer is now an inmate.

Farmer reported to prison in Hazelton, West Virginia at 2 p.m. to serve his 27-month sentence.

Farmer pleaded guilty to corruption and putting friends on the public payroll while serving as commissioner.

He was supposed to report to prison last week, but a judge delayed Farmer's sentence so he could watch his son play basketball in Kentucky's Sweet 16.
