LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky Secretary of State Michael Adams is warning people about letters that claim to be from his office.
Some people have gotten letters claiming they need to get a "Certificate of Status" for $77 to certify that their businesses exist.
But officials said there is no such thing as a "Certificate of Status" in Kentucky. They also said most business records are actually available for free, though some cost $10.
