LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A sleepwalking camper got a rude awakening when he fell to the bottom of a 60-foot cliff.
"It's really a miracle," said John May, a Wolfe County rope technician. "He fell 60 feet into boulders, and from what we've been told, he should make a full recovery. It's quite remarkable."
Rescue crews say he was sleepwalking during a camping trip in the Red River Gorge when he fell. Friends found the Cincinnati man at the bottom of the 60-foot cliff.
It took rescue crews four hours to pull the man to safety because of the jagged edges of the cliff and the dark and foggy conditions.
The man -- whose name has not been released was hospitalized and is being treated for a head injury, as well as a dislocated shoulder and fractured leg.
