LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police have charged a man with murder after a man was found shot to death on Gagel Avenue.
52-year-old Mark Tatum was charged Friday evening.
It all started shortly after 4 a.m. Friday, when the body of a 67-year-old white male was found inside a home on Gagel Avenue.
Police discovered the body after a concerned family member asked them to check on the man.
Deputy Coroner Eddie Robinson identifies the man as David Thomas Allen. An autopsy revealed that Allen died of multiple gunshot wounds to the body.
Police executed a search warrant on the home next door where Mark Tatum lives. A friend of Allen says the two neighbors previously had confrontations, including over the condition of Tatum's yard. Other neighbors say he poured gasoline on his yard, which sparked the shooting victim to previously complain to officials.
Officers took Tatum into custody at a home on Grand Ridge Court, where some of his family lives.
The LMPD SWAT team was called to the scene. They surrounded the home, and in video captured by neighbors, he comes out with his arms in the air.
Police took him into custody. He has now been charged with murder.
Police are not releasing any motive, and continue to investigate.
