LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Inmates at the Scott County Jail in southern Indiana made quilts that were given to the Ride for a Cure campaign.
The quilts will be auctioned off as part of the annual campaign in Scott County, and all the proceeds will go toward cancer research.
The quilts were made in a program led by Deputy Jail Officer Kathy Burge who secures the yarn, cloth and other supplies through donations.
Sheriff Jerry Goodin thanked the inmates for making their time productive to help other people have a chance at life.
"I am proud of them for giving back to the community, and for making their time at the Scott County Jail productive," Goodin said in a social media post Friday. "These quilts are a wonderful example of what people can do, when provided with encouragement and support."
