LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man who was stabbed outside a home in Valley Station last week has died from his injuries.

LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell says the 19-year-old victim -- who has not yet been officially identified -- died at University Hospital around 4 p.m. Aug. 7, a little over a week after he was stabbed.

Police arrested 21-year-oldĀ Damien McLeanĀ not long after responding to a trouble call last week on Lewis WayĀ near Dixie Highway, just south of the Snyder Freeway.

Officers found later McLean on Dutschke Road, near the intersection of Dixie Highway and Greenbelt Highway. That'sĀ where investigators believe McLean stabbed the victim.Ā Police say McLean may have argued with the victim before the stabbing.

Investigators say the victim walked away after he was stabbed, butĀ collapsed.

McLean was originally arraigned for assault, but he could now be charged with murder.
