LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - "My dog ate my homework." Likely excuse, right? 

For one high school student in Texas, it's the actual truth!

Reagan Hardin says her dog, Roscoe, ate her AP homework and it could have killed him. 

Hardin's homework was a diorama of a farm from the Middle Ages for a World History class.

The dog was taken to the veterinarian who had to use a scope to pull out the plastic pieces and chicken wire that could've punctured his stomach.

Hardin was able to re-create her project. Roscoe is back at home and doing fine.
