LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The U.S. Postal Service is closing eight mail processing centers around Kentucky, including one in Elizabethtown.
The operation there will now be handled in Louisville.
The change comes after a five-month study by the postal service, which is looking for ways to cut spending.
Centers are also closing in Bowling Green, Campton, Hazard, Lexington, London, Paducah and Somerset.
The Elizabethtown post office is working with the almost 200 employees affected to make sure the transition is as painless as possible.
