LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Milwaukee man and woman say they were charged almost $900 for their Uber ride to a concert.

Keith Tubin says he thought the ride was going to cost about $200. Once inside the car, he asked the driver to make a few stops along the way.

He says, the following day, he started getting alerts from his bank about the $900 charge.

Two-hundred dollars to get to the first stop," Tubin said. "We asked if he could take us a couple more places, he said no problem. He put it in the computer. I wake up the next morning with a fraud alert on the credit card: $898.

Uber says an eight percent surge rate was in place at the time, and when stops are added to a ride, the upfront price is no longer relevant.

Company officials say the fare will not be adjusted.
