LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A deadly crash Monday morning shut down part of westbound Interstate 64 in southern Indiana.

Indiana State Police said it happened around 6:30 a.m. at Mile Marker 98, about seven miles west of Corydon.

In a news release Monday afternoon, ISP said 31-year-old Zachary Rhodes Burdin, of Corydon, was headed west in the right lane of I-64 when he rear-ended a truck pulling a flatbed trailer full of paving equipment.

Police said Burdin was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured. Investigators said they do not believe weather played a factor in the crash.

The road was shut down until about 9 a.m.
