LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The defining win of Louisville's young season brought the KFC Yum! Center back to life Tuesday night.
The Cardinals surrendered a 12-point first-half lead, and after a back-and-forth second half, they trailed with 14 seconds left. But a steal and free throw from Christen Cunningham tied the game and sent it to overtime.Â
In extra time, Louisville put the Spartans away. A three-pointer by Jordan Nwora with less than two minutes to go put the Cardinals up 75-73, a lead they held to the buzzer, 82-78, with help from some clutch free throw shooting from Ryan McMahon.

McMahon led Louisville with a career-high 24 points. He finished 12-13 from the free throw line. Jordan Nwora finished with 14 points, and Cunningham and Dwayne Sutton added 13.
Louisville moves to 4-2 on the season and travels to Seton Hall on Saturday with an NCAA Tournament resume-boosting win in its pocket.
