LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A woman is dead after a hit-and-run in the Russell neighborhood Saturday morning.
According to Aaron Ellis, a spokesman for the Louisville Metro Police Department, it happened just after 4 a.m. at the intersection of 20th and Broadway.
LMPD's investigation reveals a passenger car hit the woman when she tried to cross in the middle of Broadway, not at a crosswalk.
The victim died at the scene.
LMPD said the driver of the passenger vehicle did not stop to check on the victim. Investigators don't know which direction the car came from or which way it left the scene.
If you have any information or surveillance video/pictures of the area you are asked to call LMPD's anonymous Crime Tip Line at 502-574-LMPD (5673). You can also submit a tip on the anonymous Crime Tip Portal by clicking here.
