LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Authorities have identified the woman killed after she got out of her car following a traffic crash near Fern Creek Tuesday morning.

The Jefferson County coroner's office said 55-year-old Chiquita Woods died Tuesday morning at UofL Health Hospital from blunt force trauma about an hour after she was hit by a vehicle.

Police said in a news release that Woods was involved in a minor crash at Bardstown Road and Watterson Trail around 7:30 a.m. The crash was minor, but police said Woods got out of her vehicle and was hit by another vehicle as she was standing in the street.

No criminal charges are expected. The LMPD Traffic Unit is leading the investigation.
