LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A woman is dead and a man is injured after a crash on Dixie Highway Monday night.
According to LMPD spokesman Aaron Ellis, officers were called to the 9900 block of Dixie Highway around 11:30 p.m. on the crash.
Officers believed a Nissan passenger vehicle was traveling northbound on Dixie Highway when it hit a Chrysler passenger vehicle head-on.
The woman had to be extricated out of the Nissan. She was the only person in the car at the time of the crash.
EMS transported her to University Hospital where she was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
The man driving the Chrysler was also taken to University Hospital with injuries that are believed to be non-life threatening, Ellis said.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash and LMPD's Traffic Unit is investigating.
