LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Zoneton Fire District honored firefighters for their service last year during a ceremony held in Shepherdsville on Saturday night.
Thirty-one members of Zoneton Fire District were honored in recognition of their service. Capt. Steven Corbin was selected for the 2023 Rob Orkies Award while Battalion Chief Ricky Carlson received the Garry Key Award. An awards committee reviewed nominations along with the Orkies and Key families.

The Unit Citation Award was given to Jordan Basham, Corbin, Lt. Matt Dachille, Deputy Chief Tracey Key, Lt. Keith Montgomery, Chief Kevin Moulton and Sgt. Travis Riley. The award was presented to a group of firefighters who responded to an extremely critical and emotionally challenging incident.
Tyler Barrow was selected by his peers as Recruit of the Year, Landon Milliner as Firefighter of the Year and Capt. Dustin Headley as Officer of the Year.
First responders who provided emergency medical care to people who were pulseless and not breathing or sustained life-threatening critical injuries included Patrick Baker, Brandon Irvin, Landon Milliner, Nolan Gipson, Terry Maurer, Devin Hermes; Sergeants Chris Bischoff, Daniel Costigan, Wayne Mosely, Dusten Howten, Jarred Meadows, Travis Riley; Lieutenants Joey Allen, Keith Montgomery, Mat Dachille; Captains Dustin Headley, Steven Corbin, Major Tim Cockeril, Deputy Chief Tracey Key and Chief Kevin Moulton.
Zoneton Fire District responded to 1,462 calls for service last year. Adam Nance, Nolan Gipson, Lt. Mat Dachille and Maj. Tim Cockeril were recognized for exceptional fire run attendance.
Firefighters Terry Maurer, Tyler Barrow, Dusten Howton, Sergeant Chris Bischoff, Lieutenants Mat Dachille and Keith Montgomery, Captain Dustin Headley, Deputy Chief Tracey Key and Chief Kevin Moulton were honored for exceptional training attendance.
Capt. Steve Corbin and Billy Perez were selected for Fire Prevention Award for fire prevention and community outreach activities.
Corbin and Dachille were honored for 25 years of service, while Heller was recognized for 20 years of service. Basham and support team members Jennifer Carlson and Monty Miles were honored for five years of service.
