People defend Confederate statue in Brandenburg, KY

A group of people block access to a Confederate monument on Friday, June 12, in Brandenburg, Kentucky, amid concerns that protesters against racial injustice would vandalize or tear down the monument.

Some of the town’s residents had expressed concerns that the monument might be vandalized or even torn down, but counter-protesters have blocked any access to the site.
The school district began investigating the teacher after complaints surfaced Friday night.
