According to Louisville Metro Police, there have been 12 domestic violence-related homicides thus far in 2022. There were nine reported in 2020, followed by 10 last year.
Supporters say it would protect a Kentucky resident fleeing a domestic violence, stalking or human trafficking situation so they can feel safe at home.
LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said police responded to a shooting in the 4000 block of Taylor Boulevard, near Interstate 264, around 6:40 p.m. Tuesday.
