A group of people from both sides of the river were convened to discuss potential ways to make the overused 2nd Street Bridge safer. There are only about four ways:

Tear it down and rebuild it bigger. That's not going to happen.

Make it a toll bridge, too, so traffic will be driven back to the larger Kennedy and Lincoln bridges.

Third, make it two lanes instead of four.

But the best option is to take the tolls off the new bridges which immediately solves the 2nd Street Bridge problem.

I'll be eager to see if any of our federal politicians are bold enough to suggest removing the tolls.

Here's what our viewers had to say:

"I agree with you totally. The tolls should be removed. I get so hacked off when I see that they're building a new bridge up in northern Kentucky. No tolls.

"My thing is make it one way in the morning going one way and make it one way in the evening going the other way. Just come up with a certain time to do that."

"Well, it might be a very good idea if you had a town hall meeting. Maybe they can come up with some good ideas."

"Stop semi-traffic on the 2nd Street Bridge and just allow cars and SUVs."

"The toll bridges, I can't afford it. Take them off."

"There's no reason for tolls whatsoever. People need the relief."

"I say remove the toll. We pay taxes. Get rid of the toll."
