No. 6 Oregon puts its Bowl Subdivision-leading 10-game road win streak on the line Saturday when it visits Iowa in the spotlight game on this week's Big Ten schedule. Iowa still has a chance to reach the playoff if it wins the rest of its regular-season games. This matchup starts a difficult November schedule for Oregon. The Big Ten schedule also has No. 2 Indiana seeking to win at Penn State for the first time in school history.

Indiana coach Curt Cignetti is the unanimous choice for top coach in the Big Ten at midseason by a panel of 10 Associated Press writers who cover the conference. The Hoosiers have built on their College Football Playoff appearance, starting 6-0 and reaching their highest ranking ever at No. 3. Cignetti brought in 23 transfers to join a team that returned eight starters. Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza was voted top offensive player and top first-year transfer. Northwestern was voted the Big Ten's surprise team after a 4-2 start. Nebraska's Emmett Johnson is most surprising player.

Casey Thompson threw threw for two touchdowns and ran for another and Nebraska beat a Football Bowl Subdivision opponent for the first time in 364 days with a 35-21 victory over Indiana. Thompson threw a 71-yard touchdown pass to Trey Palmer early in the fourth to break a 21-all tie and followed with a 1-yard run to give the Cornhuskers a two-score cushion. The win ended a nine-game losing streak against Bowl Subdivision opponents and was Mickey Joseph’s first since he was named interim head coach following the firing of Scott Frost on Sept. 11.
