The man charged in connection with a double homicide at a New Albany gas station Monday appeared before a judge for the first time in the case Thursday afternoon.

Detectives don't think there's any connection between Yelle, and the suspect, 37-year-old Cherok Ameer Douglass, or Douglass' wife, the other victim, Bradlee Kay Douglass.

According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Carey Huls, 37-year-old Cherok Ameer Douglass is facing preliminary charges of Kidnapping and Robbery.
