Attorney General Russell Coleman filed a brief in response to Houck's appeal of his conviction to the Kentucky Supreme Court.

Houck was being housed at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Johnson County after being transferred from the Oldham County Detention Center in November.

The notice, filed in Nelson Circuit Court and dated Monday, Oct. 6, stated Houck's intention to take his appeal of the entire case to the Kentucky Supreme Court.

Joseph Lawson, one of three men convicted in the murder of Bardstown mother Crystal Rogers, filed an appeal Monday.
