Coming off its first loss of the season — a gut-punch five-setter after reaching match point at No. 2 Texas just two nights before — Louisville might’ve showed a touch of a hangover in its opening frame Friday night in a hostile environment at Creighton.
The brakes, after an NCAA Tournament loss, slam with severity. And for a coach who has been described as, “all gas, no brakes,” it may be even more jarring.
Nobody resonated more within the Louisville fan base than Chucky Hepburn.

But for this program, brought back into the March Madness fold after five long seasons away, the experience is being made new again.
While Louisville will head into Thursday's NCAA Tournament opener in Rupp Arena looking for its first March Madness win since 2017, it will encounter an opponent that has won at least one NCAA game in each of the past four tournaments.
Most bracketologists projected Louisville as a 6-seed.
