Right now, customers are reporting energy bills are double what they normally pay.

A spokesman said there were "brief service" interruptions only in the KU service area on Friday night. 

Starting Jan. 1, 2023, there will be a 6% tax applied to utilities at residences if it is not the customer's domicile, or primary, residence. Those services would include water, electric and gas. 

Daniel Lowry, an LG&E spokesperson, says weather and energy use habits are the two biggest factors that impact monthly bills.
