Multiple JCPS board members are not seeking reelection this November after state lawmakers redrew district boundaries and shrank the board.

The temporary district assignments were made after board members in overlapping districts drew lots during Tuesday night’s meeting.

JCPS students will have an extra day of school this year for all that time off for the winter storm that came through last month.

More than half of the Jefferson County Board of Education seats are up for election, and only one of the six candidates is an incumbent.

Two other people have filed to run for the District 2 seat.

If Louisville's public school system cuts transportation for some students next year, families hope the district will have alternatives to help get kids to and from school.
