Corrections director Jerry Collins says the jail is already making changes.

Mayor Greg Fischer is putting public safety front-and-center, with more than $58 million recommended for the Department of Corrections.

Jerry Collins, the jail commander of the Clark County jail in Jeffersonville will take over Metro Corrections on April 4th.

In the last six weeks, five people housed at the jail have died.
