The vote came during the district's board meeting Tuesday evening, which marked the first time members debated the proposed cuts.

Superintendent Dr. Brian Yearwood unveiled the initial plan last Wednesday.

Jefferson County Teachers Association President Maddie Shepard said no agreement has been reached on teacher pay.

The district is now considering cutting mental health practitioner positions at schools outside the Exceptional Student Zone.
