The Jefferson County Board of Education voted Friday in favor of central office reductions and a restructuring plan in as part of the district's plan to address what's projected to be a $188 million shortfall in the 2026-27 budget.

District leaders revealed a draft district facilities plan Monday outlining which schools they want to build, rebuild or renovate during the next roughly four-year cycle.

 A job within the Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) Clothing Assistance Program (CAP) is on the chopping block as part of the district's newest budget cut proposal.

The cuts are part of $142 million in proposed cuts across the district to address what is projected to be a $188 million shortfall in the 2026-27 budget.
