Much of the public conversation surrounding JCPS this year centered on the district's projected $188 million budget deficit and the cuts required to address it.

Nicole Humphrey, president of JCAESP AFSCME Local 4011, said JCPS no longer plans to cut the jobs.

The cuts are part of $142 million in proposed cuts across the district to address what is projected to be a $188 million shortfall in the 2026-27 budget.

The district on Monday released the minutes from Tuesday’s school board meeting.
