Jefferson County Teachers Association President Maddie Shepard said no agreement has been reached on teacher pay.
As parents are facing more changes and decisions, the district hosted a virtual information session Tuesday evening about two proposals that would implement three different start times instead of the nine JCPS currently has.
Jefferson County Teachers Association is the district's largest teachers' union. Brent McKim is JCTA's president.
Kentucky lawmakers want to address in-school student violence and the recent teacher shortage with a new statewide discipline plan.
The plan includes start times ranging from 7:40 a.m. to as late as 10:40 a.m. Most schools would start at either 7:40 a.m., 8:40 a.m. or 9:40 a.m.

The district reported 6,828 fights through the first 72 days of the 2021-22 year, which covers Aug. 11 through Dec. 1. That total is down 41.1% from the 11,592 fights reported by JCPS schools in the same 72-day period in the 2019-20 school year and 31.4% from the 9,959 fights recorded in that span during the 2018-19 term.
The boards of two labor groups representing JCPS employees – the Jefferson County Teachers Association and the Jefferson County Association of Educational Support Personnel – have voted to support such a measure, leaders told WDRB News on Friday.
