Sections of River Road will be closed daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through July 21.

Construction on Interstate 65 South in downtown Louisville next week will create significant road closures for five days, likely causing major backups across the area.

KYTC said a damaged expansion joint on the Indiana approach needed to be repaired in preparation for a long-planned project to replace all expansion joints on the bridge.

KYTC said vehicles exceeding the stated limits are advised to use the Sherman Minton Bridge on Interstate 64 or the Lincoln and Kennedy bridges on Interstate 65 instead.

Two right lanes on I-65 south on the bridge going into Louisville will close for steel repairs, according to Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
