Friday, Mayor Craig Greenberg and LMPD Chief Jacquelyn Gwinn-Villaroel gave the oath of office and welcomed twenty new officers to the department.
The shooting happened Oct. 24 near 26th Street and Garland Avenue in west Louisville.
LMPD Chief Jacquelyn Gwinn-Villaroel permanently stepped into the role in July, becoming the first permanent Black female police chief for the department and the state.
