The developer wants to rezone land currently designated as a single-family residential and industrial district and designate it as a multifamily residential district. The project would create more than 300 new apartments in the area.

The park is located at 8709 3rd Street Road, along a portion of the Louisville Loop near Pond Creek in south Louisville. 

Once complete, the park will have a sprayground, walking paths and a playground for "families to gather, play and remember."

A portion of the Louisville Loop was shut down today.
