LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Work is progressing on a park named in honor of a fallen Louisville Metro Police officer.

The Nick Rodman Legacy Foundation shared photos of the park located along a portion of the Louisville Loop near Pond Creek in south Louisville.

The foundation said once complete, the park will have a sprayground, walking paths and a playground for "families to gather, play and remember."

The foundation said details on an opening date are coming soon.

LMPD officer Nick Rodman was killed in the line of duty after the suspect he was chasing crashed into his police car eight years ago. Rodman was just 30 years old, and left behind a wife and two kids.
